VOLUNTEER WITH HATZOLA HBS
RESPONDER
We are recruiting volunteers to train as first responders who will be among the first people to arrive at an emergency scene. Your primary role will be to assess the situation and provide on-scene medical assistance, such as administering basic life support, using automated external defibrillators (AEDs), and managing trauma and injuries. You will be working closely as a team, communicating effectively and relying on each other's skills and knowledge.
First responders will undergo unique training, utilize specialized equipment, and access a variety of information systems to perform their duties. You will also wear special gear and uniforms to keep themselves safe while helping others.
As you will be responding in the local areas where you live and work, you will be able to attend the scene of an emergency within a few minutes, and often before the emergency service arrives. You will be offering life-saving first aid further increasing the patient's chances of survival.

DISPATCHER
If you have good communication and problem-solving skills, an ability to remain calm under pressure to make rational decisions, and are able to multitask, then a role as one of our dispatchers may be for you.
Dispatchers answer emergency calls from the public and gather information, assess priorities, and determine the appropriate response. You would be part of a team that works to ensure that the right help reaches people as soon as possible.
Here are some of the tasks our ambulance dispatchers may perform:
-
Take details: Calmly take details about the patient's condition and location from the caller
-
Log information: Enter the details into a computer system that categorizes the seriousness of the illness or injury
-
Decide on response: Use a triage system to decide which staff and vehicles to dispatch, such as an emergency ambulance or a rapid response car
-
Contact crew: Pass on essential information to the crew and contact them
-
Create records: Create a record of the calls
